HANDI QUILTER EDUCATIONAL EVENT

SEPTEMBER 6—8, 2018

Join us for 3 days of outstanding long arm quilting training presented by certified Handi Quilter educators. Lecture and demonstration training will include RULER MANIA and CREATIVE TEXTURES AND FILLS. Ruler Mania will help you add precision and consistency in your quilting design, you will love using design rulers and templates. Meandering is the easiest and most common filler for background space, but there are limitless creative design elements to use instead. Come expand your design portfolio by learning the stitch path of a wide variety of creative filler designs.

Open to all long arm quilters, no machine needed, cost $175 for all 3 days

Open Sewing

Our classroom is available for quilters to come and work on those UFO’s in your closet. Every Wednesday from 1 pm to 8 pm you are welcome to come in and work. Cutting tables and irons are available. Bring your own machine or use a classroom machine. You will need to purchase needles and bobbins if you are using a classroom machine or bring needed accessories with your machine. Please call the shop at 727-1757 to be sure the classroom will be available.

BIG SKY QUILTS CLASSES

Registration for classes can be in person, by phone or on-line. You must be paid for a class to receive a class supply list. When you register on-line for a class you will receive a follow up e-mail with the supply list. If you want to use a classroom machine call Big Sky Quilts to reserve a machine and make arrangements to learn how to use the sewing machine. You need to be familiar with the sewing machine you are using, including threading the machine and winding a bobbin.

Wanting to take a break from the world? Then come on in and sew with us. This quilt top will leave you worry free as you giggle and slice into your favorite jelly roll.

Fast & Easy Beginner Pillow Case

 Learn the basics of sewing by making a fun and easy Pillow Case. This class is for young people wanting to learn how to sew. Class will include operation of a sewing machine from the parts of the machine, how to thread a sewing machine, winding a bobbin and sewing a straight seam. Learn about basic supplies needed to get started and sewing safety through the construction of a personalized pillow case. Students can either select their fabric or purchasing a pre-packaged kit. Students must be at least 10 years old. Class size limited to 6 students.

Cost: $20.00 + cost of supplies and fabric or kit

 This bag features both exterior and interior zipper pockets, as well as an interior double slip pocket. She’s got plenty of jazz. Wanting to add even more flare and an added challenge, try using cork.
