Big Sky Quilts is sponsoring a PANEL CHALLENGE featuring the On Freedom’s Wing collection by Rick Kelley. Rick has a love for nature and began painting at the age of 10. He spent time in Montana while in college and has used its beauty as a backdrop and inspiration for his work. Use the On Freedom’s Wing panel to create a unique quilt minimum size 44 inches x 62 inches, maximum size 64 inches x 82 inches. Start now, fabric collection available now, finished quilts must be returned to Big Sky Quilts by March 14, 2020. They will be displayed in the classroom at the shop through March 29, 2020. Winners will be selected by people’s choice voting and an independent artist. Individuals creating each quilt will have the option to keep their quilt or donate the quilt to the Great Falls Grace Home for Veterans.

BIG SKY QUILTS CLASSES

Registration for classes can be in person, by phone or on-line. You must be paid for a class to receive a class supply list. When you register on-line for a class you will receive a follow up e-mail with the supply list. If you want to use a classroom machine call Big Sky Quilts to reserve a machine and make arrangements to learn how to use the sewing machine. You need to be familiar with the sewing machine you are using, including threading the machine and winding a bobbin.               

Open Sew

Our classroom is available for quilters to come and work on those UFO’s in your closet. Every Wednesday from 1 pm to 8 pm you are welcome to come in and work. Cutting tables and irons are available. Bring your own machine or use a classroom machine. You will need to purchase needles and bobbins if you are using a classroom machine or bring needed accessories with your machine. Please call the shop at 727-1757 to be sure the classroom will be available.

Mystery Project Class

Would you like a little MYSTERY in your life?  Join Nichole at Big Sky Quilts for a small project adventure.   The first Tuesday of every month will feature a new mystery project.   The focus will be on creative block layouts, new techniques and new rulers.

March project will be a Mystery Table Runner.  Class is March 3 at 5:30 to 8:30.   Cost is $25 + Supplies

??? It’s A Mystery

Are you looking to spice up your joy of sewing? Join Nichole at Big Sky Quilts for a mystery adventure.  This class is on the first and second Saturdays of March, April and May.  We will focus on different techniques along with color placement.  Each class will focus on a different block.  Your Mystery quilt will turn into a beautiful kaleidoscope of colors while we use traditional piecing and have fun with a few new twists. Cost is $95 + pattern and supplies. 

Class starts on March 7 from 10:30 to 4:00.  Class runs March 7 to May 9 on the first and second Saturdays of the month.

 

SOAK UP THE SUN!

Step away from the cold and focus on the coming bloom of spring. No need to fear curves.  Join Nichole and learn to sew curves and square them to near perfection.  This class features the book “Soak up the Sun” and the mini curve ruler which was used in the Santa class.

Class is March 17 and 24, 2002 from 5:30 to 8:00.

Class Fee $25.00 plus supplies. 

Happy Hauler Tote Bag

Big zippered top bag with six pockets on the inside to keep everything organized. Haul your quilt projects and supplies to class or your finished quilts to show and tell!   Let your creativity run wild with your fabric selection for this big zippered top bag with six pockets on the inside. Fabric with a directional print or panels may require more fabric. Skills used will include working with a double-sided fusible foam batting, basic sewing knowledge, zipper, constructing handles and binding. April 25, 10:30 to 4:00. Class fee $25.00 plus supplies

Class Registration Policy: In order to sign up for a class, YOU MUST PAY IN ORDER TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE IN THE CLASS. Class fee is due at the time of registration. The class fee does not include supplies or materials for the class unless noted. You will receive a complete class supply list at that time. Class registration can be completed via on-line, phone or in person. Payment can be made by debit/credit card, check or cash. Payment must be in US currency. If the class must be cancelled due to low enrollment, we will notify you five (5) days in advance and refund your class fee. If YOU cancelfourteen (14) days prior to the class Big Sky Quilts will refund your class fee. After the 14 day point, whether you attend or not, we are still committed to the instructor fee and cannot issue a refund. Unopened merchandise, in its original packaging is eligible for a return with a 25% restock fee. Cut fabrics and copyrighted materials, such as books and patterns, are not returnable
